Dear IES Representative,
On behalf of International Education Services Limited and the teachers and staff of IES programs, I wish you and your family a happy and safe festive season and a prosperous New Year.
2016 was the most successful year in our history, surpassing the high-water mark of 2015.
Among the highlights of 2016, the opening of the second phase of our second campus stands as our proudest. The new campus extension highlights the strong commitment agents and students have to our college and it is heartening to see our programs continue to build in popularity.
The second campus came off the back of strong performances from our first and second semester intakes. Particularly, we saw the January Extended and February Standard intakes reach capacity well ahead of schedule, followed by the July Extended and Standard programs later in the year. The unprecedented demand for the program was incredible.
I would particularly like to thank you for your hard work on behalf of IES throughout the year. IES’ achievements during 2016 are as much yours as they are ours.
IES will close from Friday 23 December 2016 and will reopen on Tuesday 3 January 2016. If you have students enrolled in the January Extended program, please remind them to arrive at the Leichhardt Street Campus by 8:15am on Tuesday 3 January for Orientation.
Thank you for helping us strengthen our position as one of Australia’s most popular pathway providers. We look forward to continuing to work with you in 2017 and further building upon the success of the past years.
Till next time,
Reid Arkinstall,
Director of Corporate and Client Relations
International Education Services

On Wednesday 9 November, IES opened the IES Indigenous Art Gallery. This initiative aims to showcase the significant role of art and creativity in Australian Indigenous culture.
The gallery was opened by Mr. Chris Evason, Managing Director of International Education Services, and Professor Tim Dunne, Executive Dean of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, University of Queensland. The opening also featured an Indigenous art Masterclass delivered by The University of Queensland Associate Professor Sally Butler, followed by a tour of the collection. The first collection featured more than 53 artworks all created by Indigenous female artists.
Present at the opening were current IES students, IES academic staff, artists and other external stakeholders.
IES will be using the art collection as a practical educational resource used within the curriculum, which provides international students with a starting point to consider the circumstances and characteristics of Australia’s Indigenous people.
The gallery will be open for public tours until the 23 December. For more information about the gallery or to book private tours please contact us via gallery@fdn.uq.edu.au
